Turkey Artificial Intelligence Vision 2026-2030 launched
Turkey's 2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan aims to promote the use of artificial intelligence in critical areas such as public services, healthcare, industry, education, agriculture, and security. The plan is based on four main axes: notice, benefit, produce, and manage. From a healthcare perspective, the action plan marks the beginning of a new era for HBYS, SBYS, clinical decision support systems, health data analytics, Turkish large language models, data security, and digital hospital applications. The standardization of health data, the opening of anonymized public datasets for use, and the development of AI-supported health solutions are particularly emphasized. The plan aims to open access to at least 2,000 public datasets through the National Data Library, train 10,000 advanced AI specialists, and 100,000 AI application professionals. Additionally, allocating funds from public investment programs for AI projects and increasing data center capacity are also among the important topics of the plan. This development in the HBYS ecosystem indicates that hospital information management systems should evolve from mere record-keeping and process management structures into intelligent platforms that produce, analyze, and provide decision support, while ensuring security and compliance with standards.
